Southern.Business is a platform powered by the Southern Palmetto Foundation, serving as a digital showcase for websites developed by participants of the Coding Career Connect program. These student-designed sites are not just technical exercises—they’re real-world solutions created to support local businesses, nonprofits, and initiatives across South Carolina’s rural communities.

The Coding Career Connect program is part of the Foundation’s broader mission to close digital equity gaps by providing individuals—especially those in underserved and rural regions—with the training and mentorship needed to launch careers in web development, design, and digital services. Through hands-on experience, students gain professional skills while also giving back to their communities through meaningful tech projects.

As the hosting ground for these student projects, Southern.Business highlights both the technical talent being cultivated in our region and the commitment of the Southern Palmetto Foundation to sustainable, inclusive economic development.

The Southern Palmetto Foundation itself is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to drive growth in South Carolina’s rural counties through business support, workforce development, and digital inclusion. From entrepreneurship training to broadband advocacy, the Foundation empowers communities to build stronger local economies through innovation, education, and access.

Southern.Business is more than a portfolio—it’s a vision in action.
